Sarkar Raj: A Family Wasted
Tuesday, June 10th, 2008
Sarkar Raj is a disappointment. I, like everybody else in India, was eagerly waiting to watch the three Bachachans together. But the wait hasn’t been worthwhile. Aishwarya looks fat and blotchy. She is better suited for Dhoom or Jodha-Akbar kind of roles. I think Priyanka Chopra could have projected the ruthless business-woman-with-a-heart-of-gold with finesse.
Abhishek Bachchan looked like he was stooping under the burden of carrying the picture on his lone shoulders. He failed in the role of a young and overconfident Don prodigy. The whole background of Enron and Shankar Nagre’s( Abhishek Bachchan) passion to work for the betterment of Maharashtra looks flimsy and unconvincing. The story should have been on the personal struggle of Nagre family to control the Sarkar ( government), rather than making them martyrs.
Amitabh Bachchan should have learned by now that speaking in nasal tone doesn’t necessarily makes for good acting.
The music: The lesser I say the better. Sarkar had an impressive background score which was used at proper places. Where as in Sarkar Raj, the music is very loud and lousy, not at all worth mentioning.
My rating for Sarkar Raj is 2 out of 10

Very few sequels are worth watching, let alone mentioning. After this one, I can’t wait for Sarkarni Raj.
‘Ek Çhai Lana’
what a beautiful ending. Watch Sarkar Raj at Interval.in:

I disagree here.
There are very few sequels one can admire, and this really comes quite high in the list, at least mine.
This movie shows the power of ‘power’. And that is shown artistically.
The camera work, the background score, the dialogues, the sequence, the stare right in your eyes……all where brilliant; what more you want?
I know the music was a li’l dull, it would have been better if the movie was song-less.
As for Acting the three “A”s where perfect. All of them did complete justice to the roles. May be I am a fan of all 3, but still neutrally, they are worth appreciating.
I know another sequel is in the making, but I am sure the ending of SR2 was a surprise. Liked it much.
Anyways, its just my personal thought for the movie…..may be my taste is different
Keep it up.
Cheers,
Rohit
